4TH CURTIS "INVISIBLE AX" REVIEW

January 27, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

Usually an EP is released for one of 3 reasons: a first release to show their personality, to release b-sides and or songs the band couldn’t use, or in 4th Curtis’s case: to show that they are ready to take the world by storm. Released on November 29th, 2019, Invisible Ax shows 4th Curtis at their strongest.

PRGRPHS "LITTLE INVISIBLE YESTERDAYS" EP REVIEW

January 25, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

A reflective and thought provoking EP, “Little Invisible Yesterdays” by PRGRPHS is an examination of memory and perception. The crux of the album is that memories get smaller yet more significant the more we collect and eventually we have so many they essentially become invisible, a point that is established by starting off each of the two songs with audio clips from old family videos.

PARTITION "PRODIGAL GUN" ALBUM REVIEW

January 21, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

Channeling early nineties punk/alternative, PARTITION’S “Prodigal Gun” is more than just a fully loaded entendre, it’s a powerful force that doesn't let up until the very last note on “Freudian Slip” screeches and fades out.

ZAQ BAKER "DOWN FOR WHATEVER" MUSIC VIDEO

January 17, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Video Premiere

Zaq Baker dropped this intimate video for their piano duet, “Down For Whatever,” featuring an assist from Lydia Pelletier on vocals. The song is sweet and astutely capturing the feelings and excitement of young high-school love.

OKNICE "WINTER TAPE, VOL. 1" REVIEW

January 13, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

With his third EP release of 2019, St. Paul’s very own OKnice gives us a winter themed project. With cold beats and cold bars, this EP is one of my favorite projects that came out last year. With production from Mikal Jones; OKnice bring a short and sweet project that is packed densely with hot content.

2019 ALBUM OF THE YEAR

January 06, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Year End List

So here is the thing, I like a certain type of music, and though my musical taste has greatly expanded over the last year, These are my favorite albums and EPs of 2019. You’ll find albums no one else included on their year end lists, but you’ll also find albums that EVERYONE has already written about. Ask anyone else and they’ll give you a different list. it’s impossible to set my bias aside. It’s also impossible to include everyone on this list, there are a lot of truly amazing albums I feel bad for leaving off these lists. I listened to over two-hundred albums/EPs from 2019 and relistened to all of them again over the last couple months. All that said, here are my favorite albums and EPs of 2019. Tell me why I’m wrong and what I missed in the comments.
