ZAQ BAKER "DOWN FOR WHATEVER" MUSIC VIDEO
Zaq Baker dropped this intimate video for their piano duet, “Down For Whatever,” featuring an assist from Lydia Pelletier on vocals. The song is sweet and astutely capturing the feelings and excitement of young high-school love. Filmed at the Music Lab in Minneapolis, this video is the first in a series of three videos, with the others to be release in the spring and summer. I love how personal this song feels, yet at the same times it’s some how a universal experience.
“The "Down For Whatever" video is the first installment in my three-part acoustic video series, Good Kid Manic Summer, all filmed and recorded in one day in August. To me, the intimacy of the story and shared vocals, and the stripped-down arrangement at the grand piano, made "Down For Whatever" an obvious choice for the series. I wrote this song by putting myself in the position of a lovestruck teenager -- a hilariously easy leap for me. The imagined story relies on experiences that should be relatable for anyone who has had a strong crush.” - Zaq Baker
