FAVORITE MINNESOTA ALBUMS OF 2024

January 20, 2025 by Andrew Perrizo in Year End List

It’s 2025, and maybe it’s old school of us at this point, but no AI was used to write these reviews. All of these reviews are sincere and straight from our hearts. Maybe they’re not the most eloquent reviews you’ll find, but it’s real people caring about real local artists. And with that out of the way, on to our favorite Albums of 2024! There are some new artists as well as familiar favorites from previous years. Support these artists!

FAVORITE MINNESOTA EPS OF 2024

January 13, 2025 by Andrew Perrizo in Year End List

Every year I say I'm going to start this project long before I actually do. 2024 was just full of so many great Minnesota projects that I couldn't stop listening long enough to sit down and write about them. The honorable mentions list contains a lot of artists I really wanted to write full reviews of, but just ran out of time and words. Let's hope 2025 has as many awesome projects.

FAVORITE MINNESOTA ALBUMS OF 2023

January 23, 2024 by Andrew Perrizo in Year End List

So the hardest part of writing year end reviews is finding unique descriptions that ultimately just mean "this album fucking rocks, check it out!" All of these albums fucking rock, and you should check them out. Hopefully we were able to explain the essence of these projects a bit more than such a surface level glance. While we do one last look back at 2023, consider joining us on February 24th to help us celebrate doing this for 5 YEARS! We are having a gig to benefit She Rock She Rock at Eagles 34. Check out the poster at the bottom of the article.

FAVORITE MINNESOTA ALBUMS OF 2021

January 17, 2022 by Andrew Perrizo in Year End List

The Minnesota music scene made it through 2021. We didn’t see as many live gigs as we wanted, but we did our best with livestream concerts. Shows were back again in the summer, then they weren’t again onces winter started rolling in. I think 2022 will be a better year for Minnesota music, but before we get to that, one last look back at our Favorite Albums of 2021.

FAVORITE TWIN CITIES' EPS OF 2020

January 11, 2021 by Andrew Perrizo in Year End List

To quote Keith Harris, final music editor for City Pages, “I too have noticed it was a hard year.” Music has made the suffering this year more bearable, even though it was one of the hardest-hit industries. It would be truly impossible to try and list all of the projects we’ve enjoyed this year, but here are just a few of our favorites.
