Ingeborg von Agassiz "I Want More from Xmas"
It’s that time of year again! And what better way to harken the holidays than “I Want More from Xmas” by Ingeborg von Agassiz. This isn’t your classic Christmas carol. A much more modern approach to the season, Agassiz provides a slightly darker aesthetic on this Christmas track. With a droning organ and soothing rhode piano chords, the track is sweet and heartwarming nonetheless and a great experience for those seeking out new Christmas music.
setstill, Destin Modina "merry little christmas"
DIY Christmas vibes for your holiday season abound on this track. A compelling take on a classic tune, Setstill and Destin Modina offer a stripped down, dreary, yet heartwarming instrumental consisting entirely of distant, scratchy electric guitar. The vocals are strong yet gentle and soothing. A pleasant wash of reverb surrounds the track, invoking the sleepy feeling of sipping cocoa by a warm fire… but kind of Shoe-gaze vibes too? In a good way!
Ben Cook-Feltz "We Need a Little Christmas"
“We Need a Little Christmas” by Ben Cook-Feltz is a cheerful, upbeat and lighthearted Christmas track. Accordian and jaw harp are both part of the ensemble on this track providing a jovial feeling to the instrumental. The song is uplifting, energetic and perfect for the whole family. “We Need a Little Christmas” is sure to bring a smile to your face.
Ali Gray "One More Christmas"
“One More Christmas” is a serene scene of magical holiday vibes. A relaxing guitar arpeggio accompanies Gray’s soothing vocal melodies. The song invokes the nostalgic feeling of gazing at Christmas lights on a snowy nights drive home. The clean production and incredible vocal performance on this track will wrap you in a warm embrace of holiday cheer.
Admiral Fox "Winter in Limbo"
“Winter in Limbo” by Admiral Fox is an indie folk bop with jangling electric guitar strums, tambourines and a very holiday-season-inspired bell section. Nonetheless the song is a folk rock track through and through. A simple rhythm and chord progression lay under introspective vocals with a lot of heart. The song is perfect for those slightly angsty winter afternoons.
Cureton "My Second Favorite Christmas Song"
Cureton provides an upbeat holiday banger with the single “My Second Favorite Christmas Song.” Muted electric guitar strums, and a tight drum groove give way to an all out Alt-Rock Christmas jam on the chorus. The vocals are bathed in a gorgeous wash of slap delay and the lyrics are full of holiday spirit. This song is ideal for your drive to work, watching the incredibly delayed sunrise and embracing the glory of Minnesota’s winter season.
