Following the 2020 release of the “Rising Path LP,” the titular duo of producer James Adamiak and vocalist Quentdiggy share tots and unleash their inner Rex in the latest music video for the single “This Time.” The music video’s release begins the rollout of Rising Path’s forthcoming album, “The Shift” set to drop December third.

Bow to Your Sensei!

Co-produced by James Adamiak and multi-instrumentalist Dan Knoflicek “This Time” round-house kicks together with a crisp, but luscious, blend of love-sick doo-wop of the 1940’s-the 1950s with contemporary pop-soul. As always, Quentdiggy’s feathery voice floats over the soothing, but upbeat pace.

Now, let’s talk visuals:

You may experience déjà vu within the first few frames as the music video’s inspiration pays homage to the 2004 cult comedy classic “Napoleon Dynamite.” Adamiak and Quentdiggy recreate scenes from the film, mainly centered around the fearless Octagon warrior Rex and his highly effective Rex Kwon Do self-defense class.

Directed by Pete Stude of Pete Productions, the inspiration from the video derived from Jame’s time taking Kempo Karate classes. Ryan (Quentdiggy) added to the idea by suggesting tying in Rex’s self-defense seminar, which eventually blossomed into a full-fledged Napoleon Dynamite spinoff.
