The wild, frenetic energy of "90's Kid" surges through the viewer like a jolt from a live wire. The latest video from The Bad Man, one of Minneapolis’ most driven bands, captures their raucous live performances in visual form. This feels more like a motion picture than a music video - a strange lovechild between Blade Runner and Day of the Dead.
Highly acclaimed director, Patrick Pierson (Volk, Hastings 3000), is the maestro behind this uncontrollable vision. Pierson captures the jarring mania of The Bad Man's headspace perfectly. From the rising, distorted cacophony of the intro, you are plunged headfirst into the action. With impressive visual effects, the illuminated band's performance jumps from the screen.
This song is like mixing Red Bull with Nitrous Oxide. It will have you jumping around the room. Frontman Peter Memorich's raspy howls harken back to the days of supermarket head rushes. The high-powered delivery is a swinging ball of fire. Warren "The Dog" Peterson's bass thumps define this funky groove while the stomping rhythm of Joe Ramm's drums bounces from Patrick Davis’ jangling guitar riffs. This band's cohesiveness is undeniable. In the best way, it will have you asking yourself "What am I listening to"? Ben Hintz' infectious sax work bring this nineties anthem to another level.
”90's Kid'“ is the first single off their much-anticipated Flying Couch EP. Its release is slated for launch in January or February 2022, ahead of their first trip to SXSW. The future is looking very bright for this band and "90's Kid" brilliantly captures the devilish spirit of their spirited live shows. This funhouse cast of characters does not stop until the lights are cut off.
