From Afar "Hibernation"
The holiday season is upon us and here at Melodic Noise Media that can only mean one thing… Holiday music! We’re starting this week’s reviews off with a peppy song called “Hibernation” from the band From Afar. The tune features a bare acoustic guitar and violin instrumental beneath some upbeat and cozy winter themed lyrics. The song is heartwarming and fun. This track comes from the bands album “Hibernation.”

Mayyadda "Holiday Joint"
This song brings some warm holiday vibes with a gorgeous melody and a simple instrumental. The track features some glistening sleigh bells and a captivating lead vocal. The song is really well done and would work super well even if it wasn’t holiday themed. The latter part of the track introduces a wonderful rhythm section and really starts moving and grooving towards the end. Check our Mayyadda’s new holiday themed EP “Holiday Joint.”

Cindy Lawson "Mr. Scrooge"
If you are looking for a fun pop-punk dive into the holiday-sphere, “Mr. Scrooge” is gonna be just the song for you. This track is cheeky and playful. With powerful, jangling electric guitars, perky drums and a catchy vocal refrain. Brandon Pulphus "Holibae"
“Holibae” is a sexy hip-hop track perfect for bumping in the car on your way to seasonal dinner. The song has a bouncing bass line, glittering rhodes and head-bopping drums. The lyrics are light hearted and center around a romantic meet up around the holiday season. This song comes from the album “Buttah 3.”

Sarah Morris "Light"
“Light” is a gentle folk song with a subdued sound. Soft piano, acoustic guitar and some scattered brass accompany a beautiful vocal melody. The song is nostalgic and touching. Morris’ wonderful voice is front and center, showcasing her range and control. “Light” can be found on Sarah Morris’ latest EP “Merry, Little, Light.”

Lt. Sunnie, Nur-D "I Want You For Christmas"
Right off the bat “I Want You For Christmas" delivers some serious holiday hype, opening with a glorious brass section. The drums and bass come in strong, adding a laid back groove. The instrumental is peppered with these wonderful little lines from the brass section, weaving in and out of the piano chords. A catchy hook is paired with Christmas themed rap verses from Lt. Sunnie and a fantastic guest appearance from Nur-D. To hear more from Lt. Sunnie check out their EP “Always Sunnie In Trillidelphia.”
