Scalise "Fruit Snacks"
Progressive folk/rock band Scalise comes through with a super atmospheric banger on the track “Fruit Snacks.” The song manages to pull off this incredibly immersive mix that totally sweeps you up in a flurry of guitars, trombones, bass and drums. This track is just overall incredibly well put together and the vocals/lyrics are super engaging to boot. Definitely check this one out if you get a chance. This is the band’s latest single release.
full catholic "not afraid of winter this year"
“not afraid of winter this year” is a progressive indie rock track with an ambitious structure. Prominently featured is a gently distorted rhythm guitar that trudges forward through the track in a syncopated rhythm. The vocals sit nicely on top of the instrumental with a slower melody, adding a nice contrast to the track. There are bigger sections that kick the energy up a notch and provide an added layer of variety. This song comes from Full Catholic’s latest album “Every Dream At Once.”
Karina Kern "Harbor Lane"
“Harbor Lane” is a gentle tune with Singer/Songwriter and pop rock tones. The song has an early 2000’s style sonically, with drums, bass and electric guitar softly accenting a prominent vocal/acoustic guitar lead. The melodies are catchy and the lyrics are endearing, reminiscing on lost love. To hear more from Karina Kern check out the latest single “Wandering Heart.”
SWRS "D N I"
“D N I” opens with an ominous, broken down electronic bell sound playing a simple melody. The track opens up into a tight, distorted version of the riff. The vocals are heavily autotuned, adding to the electronic, almost arcade-esque aesthetic of the track. The highlight of this song is the back half, the melody and instrumental totally change up into a slow build, the melody is really nice here. This song comes from the band’s latest album “1866.”
Our Common Collapse "The Lonesome Tongues"
Deathcore band Our Common Collapse provides an incredibly spooky experience just in time for the Halloween season on “The Lonesome Tongues.” The track and lyrics are incredibly dark and ominous. Incredibly intense metal tones just get more and more intense as the track progresses. The band knows how to use the space in between the guitar chugging and screaming to their advantage, presenting something fantastically intense without relying on breakneck speed to provide the energy. The song is a great listen and is the latest single from the band.
Sore Mistress "Thigh Master"
“Thigh Master” is a highly experimental electronic instrumental track with loose rhythms and great textures. The song has an industrial feel and tone to it, with dissonant melodies and drones. The drums sound almost mechanical and pair nicely with the more organic and rhythmically casual bass notes. The song is certainly a challenging dive into sonic textures but it’s really fun in that way too! “Thigh Master” comes from Sore Mistress’ album “Pleased to Eat Me.”
