Jung Yeller "Dry Bones"
“Dry Bones” is a chaotic rock song permeated by breaks of complete silence and soaring refrains. The track has a dry sonic aesthetic with upright piano and organ added to the lineup of more classic rock instruments. The song is made up of short swells of energy that seem to get progressively more intense as the track moves forward. The song comes from Jung Yeller’s debut album “Jung Yeller’s Bitchin’ Rager.”
Beltz "Pineapples & Penguins"
"Pineapples & Penguins" is a vibey summer track with a tropical undertone and a mellow hip-hop beat. Beltz delivers lyrics about relaxing and living the good life. The track has an infectious hook and solid verses. It’s reminiscent of legendary chilling anthems like “Hyyerr” from Kid Cudi’s first album. To hear more from Beltz check out the LP “Lost Not Lonely” released earlier this year.
Keep for Cheap "Segway"
Self described prairie-rock band Keep for Cheap present a folk influenced indie rock track with a beautiful piano, fuzzy electric guitar and gorgeous vocal harmonies. The track has country undertones, especially in the electric guitar, and the mesh of genres adds to the tracks depth and keeps the listener engaged. The song is the bands second single release this year.
Annie and the Bang Bang "Good Dog"
“Good Dog” opens with an instantly engaging almost flawless electric guitar tone. The guitar, drums and bass are locked together perfectly. The droopy verses give way to soaring choruses with thick distortion and powerful vocal melodies. Overall an exciting and engaging track. “Good Dog” comes from Annie and the Bang Bang’s album “Loveland” which was released earlier this year.
Neck Wrung "Old Friends"
“Old Friends” is a powerful heavy metal song featuring growling vocals, dissonant guitars and ominous breakdowns all run through fantastic production. The song is nonstop energy from front to back with a dizzying amount of rhythmic variety, tempo changes and aggressive lyrics. “Old Friends” is the band's first release since 2019.
Ben Cook-Feltz "Life's Rich Buffet"
The cover art for “Life’s Rich Buffet” has a peaceful and nostalgic aesthetic that perfectly sets the tone for the song. The track is a hypnotic indie ballad with glistening guitars, dreamy vocals and shimmering synthesizers. The steady drums and bass line carry the listener gently through a wave of retro soundscapes underpinned with tight vocal harmonies. The track clocks in at five minutes but never gets boring. “Life’s Rich Buffet” is Bens first release this year.
