BDAMAN "I, BDAMAN" ALBUM REVIEW

December 12, 2019 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

If I were to describe the sound of “I, BDaMan” with one word, it would be “classic.” The Minneapolis emcee who is also one half of the duo S.O.S. (Speed of Sound) released this solo project on November 30th. BDaMan stays true to the classic feel of the essence of Hip-Hop while dipping his toes outside of the conventional ways of the genre.

DEATHDANCE "LAST GASP" VIDEO PREMIERE

December 10, 2019 by Andrew Perrizo in Video Premiere

Juxtaposing the beauty of fresh flowers with the eventual dried husk that’s left, DEATHDANCE’s video for “Last Gasp” is gloomy and brutal, but also defiant.

VIAL "GROW UP" ALBUM REVIEW

November 29, 2019 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

Bittersweet lyrics hidden in distorted guitar hooks and crashing drums, Vial’s “Grow Up” will having you singing along to their emotional venting for just under twenty straight minutes. Toxic exes, perpetually negative and overly dependent friends, and Mercury in retrograde; “Grow Up” deals with gloomier side of adulthood.

AHEM "TRY AGAIN" ALBUM REVIEW

November 25, 2019 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

Evoking the endless energy of a childhood sugar buzz, each fuzzy-alt-pop track of “Try Again” is like listening to flickering memories of my younger carefree self, running full speed and out of control through sunlit days.

MIC DOS "CONCRETE TREES" PREVIEW

November 23, 2019 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

With a heavy serving of East Coast vibes blended with silky Latino instrumentation, Mic Dos packs plenty of content in the twenty two minute run time that makes up his newest release “Concrete Trees.” The New York native turned to a nomadic emcee that has also resided in Georgia and Illinois, but settled in Minneapolis and brought his charismatic flow and tight bars with him.

NATL PARK SRVC "PSYCHIC FRIENDS FAIR" AND "THE FUTURE IS NOW" ALBUM REVIEWS

November 18, 2019 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

It’s 2019 and NATL PARK SRVC has been incredibly busy putting out three fantastic EPs: “Oliver” (March), “Psychic Friends Fair” (August), and “The Future is Now” (November). Both “Psychic Friends Fair” and “The Future is Now” are impossibly hooky EPs, with riffs that will grab your attention and have vocal lines that will have you humming a week later.
