Top songs on the Minnesota Sound playlist.

J.Plaza "Aladdin"
“Aladdin” is a pop-sensible hip-hop track with crisp production and stunning vocal delivery. The instrumental features a choppy and catchy vocal sample. A dynamic sub bass glides effortlessly beneath the larger than life drum samples. Plaza’s vocals are smooth and relaxed, delivering memorable bars and a chill aesthetic. “Aladdin” is Plaza’s latest single.

Alyssa Rose "Let's Just Be"
“Let’s Just Be” opens with the relaxing sound of flowing water. The track fades into a soothing indie instrumental featuring gentle drums, acoustic guitar and a big electric lead. Rose’s vocals are front and center. Amidst a pleasant wash of reverb the melodies dance lightly through the instrumental. This song is Alyssa Rose’s first release.

CRXSH "torque"
“torque” features a trap drum set, big synthesizers, and deep 808 rhythms. The instrumentation is wrapped nicely around the drums and vocal melodies that lead the song. Vocally the track is heavily autotuned and vibrant. “Torque” is an engaging and colorful piece of music with lots of life.

Birth Order "Crabgrass"
“Crabgrass” opens with an unusually nonchalant vocal refrain and a single plunking guitar. This intro abruptly opens up into a chaotic and heavy Midwest emo/metal performance. The instrumental features bouncing guitar chord riffs and gigantic drum sounds. The vocal performance is dynamic and haunting. The screams are packed with emotion but shift in and out of melody and more of a speaking tone. This track comes from Birth Order’s LP “Farewell Square Horse.”

The Morning Kings "Fantasy"
The Morning Kings blend funk and rock seamlessly on the track “Fantasy.” An undeniable groove permeates the instrumental with a bass guitar that just won’t quit, a tight drum/guitar rhythm and interspersed gang vocals. This song has a controlled energy to it that’s hard to put into words. To hear more from The Morning Kings, check out their latest single release “Ice Cream.”

Yata "Sons of the Desert"
“Sons of the Desert” is a hypnotic instrumental-electronic track with a sickening, distorted lead synth line and absolutely gigantic 808s. The song has an amazing amount of distortion on almost every instrument yet the aesthetic here is cohesive and powerful. The track comes from Yata’s new EP “Fukoutneyluv6.”
