Top songs on the Minnesota Sound playlist.

Angelenah "Vegas"
“Vegas” is a sexy R&B track with shimmering keyboards, old style drum patterns and seductive lyrics. The song revolves around a gently effected set of Rhodes keys that give the track a mellow and ethereal vibe. The lyrics are front and center with lots of great background vocals peppered throughout, giving the song a full sound. This track comes from Angelenah’s new EP “I Don’t Regret A Thing.”

Electric Beauty "Cindy's Gone Away”
“Cindy’s Gone Away” is a fantastic track with a conversational lyric style and a chill rock instrumental. The band puts storytelling front and center here, capturing the listener with their lyrics and adding emotional texture through the music behind it. Piano, bass, drums and guitar provide a pillowy bed of indie rock bliss to support the vocals. This song was the first single off the band's debut self-titled album

Age/Sex/Location? "Don't Leave the Lights On"
“Don’t Leave the Lights On” is a dreamy piece of synth pop; spacey and nostalgic. Washed in reverb, the instrumental is dreamy yet composed. Age/Sex/Location? shows a lot of production control, incorporating tons of well balanced elements into a track you can easily get lost in. This is the first release by Age/Sex/Location?

Bayo, Comp Keyz "just a little bit longer"
“just a little bit longer” is a poppy hip-hop track with sunny vibes and super catchy melodies. The collaboration between vocalist Bayo and producers Comp Keys is a perfect fit. Both artists are really at peak form here. Swinging drums and glistening keys swirl beneath the clever wordplay and powerful hooks provided by Bayo. To hear more from these two artists check out the track “Optimistic.”

VVakefield "Terminal"
VVakefield returns with “Terminal” a hardcore single with melodic guitars and thundering drums. The vocals are screamed and powerful. Meanwhile the instrumental is just barely metal, breaking into some pretty massive breakdowns at points, but also straying into the sounds of punk, Midwest emo, and even pop punk at times. To hear more from VVakefield, check out the new EP “Sleep Routine.”

Palm Friends "Mile End"
“Mile End” starts out as a stripped down, melancholy indie ballad that flourishes into a full fledged indie rock slow burn. The song takes its time to slowly deliver its new ideas, providing plenty of space between lyrics and sections to calm the listener and provide a both engaging and sleepy aesthetic. This song comes from their EP “The Delivery.”
