ALIEN BOOK CLUB "...AND I'M NOT EVEN HAVING FUN ANYMORE" REVIEW

August 17, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Album Review

I fondly remember the first time I ever saw Alien Book Club live. It was one of those rare moments when a band rips into their first song, and you turn to your friend and go “holy shit, how have I not heard this band before?”

COMP KEYZ FEATURING FINDING NOVYON "CARHARTT FIT" MUSIC VIDEO

August 14, 2020 by Andrew Perrizo in Video Premiere

Packed with enough local signifiers to fill the storefront of a kitsch shop in Minneapolis’s NE (pronounced Northeast, not Nordeast, as some gentrifying marketing firm may unconvincingly try to fool) Comp Keyz’ new single, “Carhartt Fit,” and its accompanying video plant a flag firmly in the North Star State. Over a beat so woozy you might mistake it for having finished off a growler from a favorite local brewer, Comp rasps poetic about the explosiveness of the local hip hop scene.

August 13, 2020 by Paul Thorson in Album Review

“Vestiges,” was released back on June 1st this year. We remember what was going on around that time and for I/O, and everyone else, a lot of personal goals and projects took a necessary back seat. With the world changing and burning in front of our very eyes, most other things didn’t matter except protecting you and yours, and most importantly: justice.
