TIMISAROCKER - LIVE FROM QUARANTINE
Timisarocker do what they do best, rock. Originally created for Twin Cities Pride, Timisarocker recorded four songs for us to enjoy and get as close as we can to a live performance in this time of pandemic. The video starts with an introduction to the band and the members as well as giving context for the revolutionary time we are living in. They were gracious enough to give us a detailed description of the video and each song they perform, so I’ll step aside and let Timisarocker explain it.
“Timisarocker - Live from Quarantine was originally the product of a Twin Cities Pride digital performance. Now, it is a mini movie of music videos done in all of our own separate homes. All of the songs were re-recorded to mimic a “live” performance, and each video showcases our playing abilities up close and personal. When we were asked to do this, we didn’t realize the process would be during an uprising so that’s why we decided to present four songs instead of just the two that TC Pride would’ve needed from us. Now more than ever it is important to say that black lives matter and for a very long time we have shown that they do with our Black Rock Matters show. This quarantine project turned into something bigger than we anticipated it to be. We had hopes of using TC Pride’s platform to show that black lives matter and although we might still be able to do that, we can use our own platform to go above and beyond with our message and visibility.
What Does He Got That I Don’t Got
This song is about getting your feelings hurt by someone who is able to hurt them because of their skills and talent. This song is also about jealousy and self doubt. When you and a frenemy share mutual friends, it can be an intimidating feeling to wonder if they’ve talked about you behind your back. This song details a very specific event between myself and someone who I thought was my friend. Turns out this person was only nice to me because I was paying them; even though they say I can’t be trusted with money.
Apollo
This song is about the planet and how humans are destroying the earth! Eventually we’re going to have to escape the planet and it’ll be all our fault.
Pizza Ship
Just like What Does He Got That I Don’t Got, Pizza Ship is a song that we were in the middle of recording for our third album that we had hoped to release this summer. Unfortunately, the corona virus is keeping us from recording a real version of this song. Regardless, this song is about unjustified behavior. The title “pizza ship” is just so we can get this song on the radio one day.
Holding Out for a Hero
Shrek 2 rules. Bonnie Taylor is a babe. This song rocks. Drum solo are making a comeback and backup singers are fun to use \m/” - Timisarocker
