Bathtub Cig "I wanna believe"
“I wanna believe” is a melancholy indie pop track with a pleasant mid tempo, guitar driven groove. The track prominently features singer Hilary James’ introspective vocals. The song is lyrically driven with lines like “Am I just ash to ash, dust to dust?” And “I want to feel anything but this.” This track comes from Bathtub Cigs latest album “Night Blindness.”
The Federales "Thanks for the Broken Heart"
Six-piece band The Federales deliver a heartfelt Americana/blues performance on the track “Thanks for the Broken Heart.” The song takes influence from a wide variety of American musical styles including country, blues, folk and honkytonk. The track features a wailing organ, perky electric guitars and a dry acoustic drum kit. To hear more from The Federales check out their full length album “honkytonks and hangovers” released in 2020.
The Right Here "Good Luck Trying"
“Good Luck Trying” sounds like alternative indie rock with a bit of country music influence. The song relies instrumentally on lively electric guitar strumming and larger than life drums with anthemic background vocals supporting a powerful lead singer with just the slightest amount of twang. The song comes from the bands latest album “Northern Town.”
Mōv Raptor "Little Bees"
“Little Bees” is an instrumental electronic track from musician and animator Mōv Raptor. The track utilizes organic sounding drum samples, glitchy reversed loops and vocal chops to create something altogether engaging. The track is reminiscent of legendary experimental electronic artists from decades past such as Four Tet and Massive Attack. “Little Bees” is the second track from Mōv Raptor’s latest EP “For the Children of Money.”
Time Room "Freeway"
“Freeway” is a rock n roll track with crunchy guitars, thundering drums and simple yet powerful vocal melodies. The song has a distinctly grungy feel to it, with booming tom drum patterns and easy to sing along with vocal lines. The track provides a lot of energy and leaves the listener excited for more. “Freeway” comes from the bands debut album “Something New.”
d.notive, Melissa Medina "Chimera"
“Chimera” is a larger than life retro-electronic synth pop masterpiece. The track features loads of shimmering synthesizers and a huge electronic drum beat. Halfway through the track the instrumental calms down to feature a short vocal performance from Melissa Medina, which provides a nice amount of dynamic to an already incredibly impressive track. The back end of the song delivers a screaming guitar solo followed by a synth lead solo. To hear more from d.notive check out the new EP “Chimera.”
