EVV is powerful, soulful, and nothing less than spectacular. Their new EP “Homebody” leaves you begging for a double LP.  With incredibly beautiful lyricism, brilliantly flowing melodies, and deep feels all around; they grab you by the heart and don't let go.
The EP starts off strong with He Said, No More - a deeply soulful track in a classic blues-rock waltz, with love lyrics that are relatable but personal.  It reminds me of at least one Led Zeppelin ballad, honestly quite perfectly capturing that raw emotion within the vocals that Robert Plant had a knack for doing.
They continue to deliver with the second song, (S)he Who Will Not Be Named.  The space within this track is incredible.  On one side you’ve got soft, driving, percussive guitar melodies that in their own right make me feel reminiscent; on the other side you’ve got these beautiful peaceful vocals that speak to you personally; and a cyclical blues bass that pulls it all together into something downright insightful and empathetic, the writer’s emotions conveyed perfectly.
EVV ends this EP with a BANGER.  Dead to Me is raw, it’s real, it’s rockin’.  The soul that EVV captures in their other songs is brought to a whole new level with the pure power in this track.  The instrumentals are exactly where they should be, the bass driving the verses, the guitar driving the choruses, and the vocals not only catchy, but so REAL.  “Fucked up and now you’re dead to me” is such a good line it made me laugh.  How are they not famous yet?  This song is awesome, end of story.
Looking back at the EP as a whole, I recommend it to anyone who likes the blues, rock, soul, etc.  Honestly they hit quite a few genres so well that it doesn’t matter what you call it, it’s just good music. They’ve made a lifelong fan of me, and hopefully many more to come.
