Read MoreOn the evening of December 8th, 2023, bugsy (and friends) took to the 7th St Entry stage in celebration of their newly anticipated EP, “Now I Spend All Of My Time Alone”. I was lucky upon my arrival to have secured a spot front and center, as I had just received word that they officially sold out the show a few hours before doors.
Read MoreA double album with 22 fantastic tracks, Annie and the Bang Bang’s “Radio Baby” offers variety in just about every aspect that an album can. The title track states, “I am an FM radio baby raised in the back of a car,” and like an FM radio on a long road trip, the album switches tones and genres often. Its lyrics also give the listener opportunities to imagine music videos or feature-length films, the perfect thing to do on a long road trip. As songwriter and lead singer Annie Enneking puts it, the songs on Radio Baby are “drive-in movies you can dance to.
Read MoreYou wouldn’t know Bob Mould was playing a solo electric set. There was just this massive wall of sound coming at the audience. It was so on-point and direct. He was a one-man wrecking machine. Super engaging with the audience, gracious and funny. The Turf Club is just a stone’s throw down the street from a music store (now a hair salon) where Husker Du started out—playing in the basement after the store closed for the night. And a little south is Macalester College, where a young Bob Mould went to college.

Read MoreThis EP shows an immense amount of maturity, growth, and collaboration amongst all members both sonically and emotionally. Everyone involved in the making of this project (producer, mixer, and recorder Abe Anderson included), I hope feel incredibly accomplished. I personally feel really lucky to have been able to enjoy bugsy’s music since their inception, as well as consider them my friends.
