Iiickyb0iii assemble a unique sound in this album that I can only describe as “Futuristic Noir Southern-style Trap.” Trunk-rattling bass licks and spasmodic hi-hats coupled with the sinister, but pearlescent synth hits sound like they’re from decades past this. Both g00db0iii and Prizzy Icky each bring a unique voice that compliments the chaotically clean instrumentation.

With a debut album that tallies over 14 features from a bevy of Twin Cities legends, Rising Path shares the most absolutely stacked lineup in an album this year. This album does not feel like a producer/vocalist duo project, but a compilation that dabbles over a vast spread of different sounds and styles with a heavy chunk of local flavor.
