Psalm One’s new video "Anxious, Nervous and Imperfect" is an affirming jab at growing up and confronting the glamourous despair of show business. Psalm's sense of humor, razor sharp wit and impeccable wordplay are front and center as soon as as the melody starts. Afrokey's refreshing and upbeat production compliments the vibe perfectly. The visuals are deeply personal & laid back (it was shot by Angel Davanport, Psalm's partner) while Chris Time Steeles edits add exposed & layered thought provoking elements. Psalm doesn’t hold back on anyone including abusers who have been protected for too long, past affiliates, groupies, and even close friends, but the best lyricists call themselves out first. We don’t have to be perfect and that's ok. Sometimes it just takes a deep breath to make it through the day. This awareness is hard won and this level of self acceptance is healing. Psalm One's smile is infectious, and it tells the story of a life defining journey that it took to arrive here.

Anxious, Nervous and Imperfect is literally my acceptance of self, my career and my faults. Those faults, when embraced, can be really beautiful. This song took years of therapy and assumed failures to write and it still makes me shed a thug tear when I listen to it. I wanted the video to have a very intimate feel that was a contrast to the sadness. Chris Time Steele edited it and he did a great job conveying my words into images. We shot at the Hewing in the North Loop, in a friend's backyard and at one of my favorite studios. These are all places I love being. Getting sober, loving myself through all my mistakes and accepting whatever "fame" I have is what makes this song special. Acceptance.” - Psalm One
