LENA ELIZABETH "NOBODY WANTS YOU" VIDEO PREMIERE
Both the song and video for “Nobody Wants You” tell the story of men invading the space and comfort of women, both cluelessly and aggressively. The harassment becomes even more apparent during the final verse and chorus when one of the women in the video is clearly drunk and the lyrics turn more anxious and reference consent by repeating the phrase “I said no” multiple times. “Nobody Wants You” is a positive additions to the larger societal conversation that needs to continue around how women are viewed in America. Here is what Lena had to say about her song and video:
“This song, "Nobody Wants You", isn't light subject matter. It is a song about catcalling, sexual harassment, assault, and everyday micro-aggressions that many groups in our society deal with on a daily basis. The chorus of the song portrays the anger behind being made to feel uncomfortable, unsafe, and violated. The verses talk about my own personal experiences in these situations. Sex and gender-based harassment regardless of how we identify is a problem that needs to be talked about even if it makes us uncomfortable.” - Lena Elizabeth
